USA Radio -DC101 station interview

Radio station DC101 has a special 'Marilyn Manson day', including a phone interview recorded with Manson yesterday.

Amongst other things - the (s)AINT dvd for instance - he talks of Ginger's broken arm, cheek and nose. He hints at who could be the stand-in drummer for the tour, saying 'He played on Antichrist Superstar'. So it's Chris Vrenna then?

Official site and Ginger news

The redesign of the official website is underway. So far so good.

Ginger's injuries are confirmed: he has a broken nose and an arm fracture. How he's going to play drums on tour, I do not know. Just take it easy, Ginger, and get well soon.

Ginger recovering

Ginger reportedly leaves hospital but still no clarification of his condition or what went wrong.

TV - CD:UK interview

The interview Manson recorded last Saturday for ITV's CD:UK is shown at mid-day. The female interviewer (Cat Deeley) sits so close to him on the couch, she can reach out and touch faith a few times. Obviously a fan. It's repeated at 3:40am tonight - tomorrow really. They're not showing the PJ performance until next Saturday, 2nd October.

Saturday 25 September 2004

TV - Comet 2004 awards

MM perform Personal Jesus on Comet 2004 awards show, Cologne, Germany, at the Kolnarena. It's by Viva TV.

TV - Ginger in trouble, Comet 2004

Ginger takes a nasty tumble as they finish their performance. He strikes his head, needs immediate medical attention and is taken to hospital, bleeding and concussed. The awards show is delayed for twenty minutes during this. The official site is in the middle of upgrading so no news from them.

Pogo tells some fans about it when he returns to the band's hotel afterwards.

Before the above, an over-zealous female fan reportedly tugs at Manson's trousers as he walks into the venue on the red carpet. So it was just one of those nights really.

Jo had a copy of Irreversible on DVD for him. Another wedding present?

TV - TV Total

Bi-lingual interview on German show, TV Total. Also they show a little of the PJ video I seem to remember. Manson runs out to get the 'idiot boards' from beside the camera.

He must have hung around a little while because he was later seen on T4 (about 3:30?), talking to Presenter Vernon Kay in a mini-interview.

A bbser describes it: They discussed the music, what inspired them to cover Personal Jesus. He said the songs on Lest We Forget are the ones he thinks best sum up his career, such as songs that were popular, songs that were singles, songs that were amazing live, songs that inspired murders and so on. Murders?!

TV - CD:UK recorded

Lunchtime: With any luck, one hundred MM fans got into CD:UK's Riverside Studios in Hammersmith, London today to watch the band record Personal Jesus, for airing next Saturday on ITV.

TV - The strongest link

And TV Sports Presenter contestant 'Bev' knew the answer!

Manson's appearance on Last Call with Carson Daly is shown tonight on American TV. The show was taped on the 9th of September. Manson was the first guest, Stuart Townshend was the second, and a rapper named Mase did 2 songs. Manson stayed until Mase performed so he was there for a good while.

Saturday 18 September 2004

TV - Top Of The Pops

The band appear on Top Of The Pops, miming only but still livening things up. They were in a helluva hurry to get offstage at the end though, especially Pogo.

TV - Hit Machine

Lunchtime: MM play 'Personal Jesus' for French TV show Hit Machine (channel M6). Pogo seems a bit squiffy to some fans but just because he's wearing a pith helmet doesn't mean he's pithed.

Daily Record interview

Scotland's very own wee moanin' faced rag (Rab C. Nesbitt's description), The Daily Record, publishes a Marilyn Manson interview.

Manson met Bowie after attending one of his shows as a fanboy earlier this year and said of him: 'He's everything that you would want when you meet someone that you really respect.'

He also said 'He and I have agreed to work on a song together for my next record when my tour's over.'

Lovely!

When asked about any plans to settle down and have kids, he replies: 'I haven't been around a lot of babies, you know? I will have a nephew when I get married.'

Of the baby in the just previewed Personal Jesus video, Marilyn says: 'I held the baby and I started singing to him, and he stopped crying instantly.'

'This baby was just looking at me and he was so happy. We finished the song, and I realised, in part, that maybe I had soothed him, but he had p***d (puked?) all over me.'

Of the Personal Jesus cover song he says: 'I did not stray greatly from the original as much as I have in the past with Tainted Love and Sweet Dreams. It maintains a basic pumping rhythm to it.'

Marilyn hopes to tour for The Best Of album, including dates in Scotland and the UK, and plans to act in a new film 'Living In Neon Dreams' with Tim Roth and Nastassja Kinski. He 'plays the Red Queen from Alice in Wonderland in a very different, twisted variation of it.'
