Marilyn Manson - the person - finally ends many months of speculation by announcing, on the official website and MTV, that Twiggy Ramirez, alias Jeordie White, is out of the band. His replacement is Tim Skold.
After his long association with Manson, however, Twig's place on this site is secure. Three entries on the band's official website on 29th May 2002 make reference - sometimes indirectly - to Twiggy going. One was a News section item and the other two were Journal posts by Marilyn, the last one posted some hours after the first shockwaves passed over.
Manson's posts Wednesday 29th May 2002
t was formally announced on this day that Twiggy is no longer in the band. A post was made on the bbs, timed at 15:28 in Los Angeles USA, linking to an announcement in the Marilyn Manson official website News section. What follows are the messages from the day:
Marilyn Manson Reveals New Lineup
Marilyn Manson moves forward with a dramatic change in style, attitude and personnel by announcing the departure of longtime friend and bassist Twiggy Ramirez.
"I have spent eight months transforming this band and our new songs into an unstoppable juggernaut, and sadly Twiggy wasn't able to make himself a part of it. Unfortunately, I feel that Marilyn Manson, as a lifestyle, is not where his heart is. So I have decided to let him go his own way, otherwise it wouldn't be fair to us, the music, or especially to the fans.
Although you can never replace a best friend like Twiggy, this album and new lineup will redefine anyone's idea of what Marilyn Manson is capable of."
Marilyn Manson, John 5, M.W. Gacy and Ginger Fish are joined by bassist Tim Skold. The Golden Age of Grotesque, which is under the production team of Manson, Skold and Ben Grosse is near completion and expected this Fall on Interscope Records.

I think the journal entry below was actually posted just BEFORE the announcement about Twiggy.
"THE FUTURE BELONGS TO THOSE WHO CREATE IT"
We are perfect and ripe just before decay.
Knowing this, a new consciousness, inevitably kills the old. One of the most painful things a person can experience is the agony of change.
If you truly love a concept, a vision, a person, an ideal... You cannot waver, or surrender to habit. Do not feel fear of what will be newly gained, and do not try to jump in a grave when we need to pay our respects and leave a tragedy.
We are brave and we are NOT uncaring. We care... I care... about the soul of what I create, because it IS my very soul.
As I write this, I am watching Fellini's version of E.A. Poe's "Never Bet The Devil Your Head."
Amusing. Will happiness drive us to despair?
When I wake up, it will be a new day. Tomorrow is closer than yesterday.

The two photo links above do not have any connection to the Twiggy news, I kept them in as part of the original post. The next one was posted AFTER the announcement about Twiggy (and before 22:09 bbs/L.A. time).
Believing in yourself and making a tough, almost impossible decision can hopefully define a man. This day is far harder for me and my dear friend than it is for anyone else.
I made a choice that I hope will be the best for both of us. There is no good or bad guy in this situation -- the reasons are between Twiggy and the band.
Twiggy, you will be missed and I truly hope you find something that brings you happiness. I will always be here for you. I mean that.

If you feel the need to see the original entries, they might still be on the Marilyn Manson official website:
For some reason, MTV and not the MM website have a video of Marilyn reading the statement about Twig's departure. He's wearing his Arch Dandy garb. Ah well, the show must go on, after all. But still a day tinged with sadness.

Two days later, on 31st May, Twig's Aunt Gigi makes a post on the official bbs about his leaving. I wish I'd saved it, maybe someone else has it tucked away. From what I remember, she wrote that Jeordie really appreciates the support given by MM fans.
It was entitled: 'On Behalf Of Jeordie And Our Family, Thank You!'
I'm glad to say, almost all of the responses to her post were positive ones.
